U is for...

United States of America!

I just want to start out by saying I LOVE my country. I love our history; I love our diversity and I love patriotism. (of course, we all know anything--good or bad--can be taken too far. I'm in reality for this post)

My youngest came in two times this past week to tell me she was red, white and blue. She had chosen to dress in those colors for the day. It's easy when all she has is white socks lol.

My three boys are scouts and know how to raise and lower the flag. I can't tell you the depth of emotion that wells inside of me when I watch them do it.

People have gladly fought and died so we can enjoy the freedoms we have. I have nothing but respect for that sacrifice, and for their willingness in doing so.

God bless the U.S.A!

I just wish more people would realize what people have fought and died for. (Speaking of the Government) Do you know Larry asks young people these days four questions about the United States and the majority of them don't know?
He asks them if they've heard of the Civil War, what 4th of July is other than for fireworks, what is the constitution and what is the Bill of Rights. Kids don't learn these in school and if they do, they gloss over it. Ah well.

Great U post!

Hey, there!
I am so in love with the USA - Any time I see the flag in a parade, I get choked up with emotion. It is so very exciting to see the flag flying anywhere. I have been out of our country several times and there is nothing like coming home to US soil and see Old Glory waving atop a flag pole. It is wonderful!
